Talking GPS

Talking GPS devices are exactly what the name suggests: GPA devices that audibly state directions or provide phone number options.

The benefits of this kind of technology are numerous, especially when thinking about car GPS systems. As useful as GPS technology is for improving navigation, it is not going to be very safe if the driver has to continually look down to see what the next turn is. Talking technology can also be useful if the driver happens to miss a turn, so that he or she can be urged to turn around without having to pull over three miles down the road and find out what happened.

For this reason, most car GPS systems have this feature. It is also available in certain mobile GPS devices, but it is most prevalent and most useful in car GPS systems.
